Nova Scotia Business Inc. (NSBI) has approved a business development incentive in the form of a payroll rebate for InterTalk Critical Information Systems Inc. InterTalk, founded in 1997, builds and services critical information, communication, and dispatch systems. Its main customers work in critical communication markets, such as public safety  (police, fire, EMS), railway, utilities, and government. InterTalk is expanding their headquarters in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.

InterTalk has the potential to create up to 50 jobs under the five-year payroll rebate agreement. Based on the maximum growth forecast of the agreement, NSBI estimates that the company could spend $10,921,000 in salaries.

It also estimated that the new employees would contribute provincial tax revenues of around $1,399,000 million through their income and consumption taxes. As a result, the company would earn a rebate of up to $646,550 over five years.

Millennium1 is headquartered in Toronto, with three other offices in Ontario, an office in Montreal, an international office in Manila, Philippines, Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, and the recently opened office in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia.

Millennium1 has the potential to create up to 360 jobs under the five-year payroll rebate agreement with the office in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. Based on the maximum growth forecast of the agreement, NSBI estimates that the company could spend $43,400,000 in salaries.

It also estimated that the new employees would contribute provincial tax revenues of around $5.6 million through their income and consumption taxes. As a result, the company would earn a rebate of up to $3,780,000 over five years.

Ai-Media has the potential to create up to 52 jobs under the five-year payroll rebate agreement. Based on the maximum growth forecast of the agreement, NSBI estimates the company could spend $7,254,000 in salaries.

It also estimated that the new employees would contribute provincial tax revenues of around $946,000 through their income and consumption taxes. As a result, the company would earn a rebate of up to $496,080 over five years.

The company will be eligible for a smaller rebate if it creates less than 52 new jobs.

It also estimated that the new employees would contribute provincial tax revenues of around $3 million through their income and consumption taxes. As a result, the company would earn a rebate of up to $1,864,200 over five years.

The Wattpad platform is for readers and writers to publish new user-generated stories and has an audience of more than 80 million users across the world.

Wattpad has the potential to create up to 88 jobs under the five-year payroll rebate agreement. Based on the maximum growth forecast of the agreement, NSBI estimates that the company could spend $16.95 million in salaries.

It also estimated that the new employees would contribute provincial tax revenues of around $2.17 million through their income and consumption taxes. As a result, the company would earn a rebate of up to $1.31 million over five years.

The company will be eligible for a smaller rebate if it creates less than 88 new jobs.

Founded in 2006, Arcurve develops solutions and delivers projects to help organizations design, build and integrate business driven technology solutions.  

Arcurve has the potential to create up to 105 jobs under the five-year payroll rebate agreement. Based on the maximum growth forecast of the agreement, NSBI estimates that the company could spend $19,250,000 in salaries.

It also estimated that the new employees would contribute provincial tax revenues of around $2.466 million through their income and consumption taxes. 

As a result, the company would earn a rebate of up to $1,264,200 over five years.

Founded in 2013 and headquartered in Dublin, Ireland, Real World is a software as a service analytics company with a portfolio of products that serve niche vertical markets in pharmacy, retail and automotive sectors around the globe.  

Real World has the potential to create up to 50 jobs under the five-year payroll rebate agreement. Based on the maximum growth forecast of the agreement, NSBI estimates that the company could spend $9 million in salaries. 

It also estimated that the new employees would contribute provincial tax revenues of around $1.156 million through their income and consumption taxes. As a result, the company would earn a rebate of up to $702,000 over five years. 

The company will be eligible for a smaller rebate if it creates less than 50 new jobs.

Nova Scotia Business Inc. (NSBI) has approved a business development incentive in the form of a payroll rebate for NorthBay Solutions, LLC, an Amazon Web Services (AWS) focused Advanced Consulting Partner, to open its operations in Halifax, Nova Scotia. 

Founded in 2007, the US-based company is an Amazon Web Services (AWS) focused consulting partner working with onshore and offshore customers to accelerate the reinvention of their applications and data for the cloud. NorthBay was the first AWS Partner to achieve "Big Data" competency and also the first partner to achieve the "Machine Learning" competency from AWS. 

NorthBay has the potential to create up to 200 jobs under the five-year payroll rebate agreement. Based on the maximum growth forecast of the agreement, NSBI estimates that the company could spend $15.2 million in salaries.

It also estimated that the new employees would contribute provincial tax revenues of around $5.13 million through their income and consumption taxes. As a result, the company would earn a rebate of up to $2.49 million over five years.

The company will be eligible for a smaller rebate if it creates less than 200 new jobs.

The following business development incentives in the form of payroll rebates were announced during the fiscal year of 2020-21. Payroll rebates are disbursed through the Strategic Investment Funds.

NSBI has approved a business development incentive in the form of a payroll rebate for Turtle Greens Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of ViaTalenta Group Ltd, to establish new operations in the agri-food market in Sydney, Cape Breton.

ViaTalenta Group Ltd is a Swiss family office that focuses on economic development through impact investments and philanthropic activities.  All investments generate a measurable, beneficial social and environmental impact alongside a financial return.

Turtle Greens has the potential to create up to 60 jobs under the five-year payroll rebate agreement. Based on the maximum growth forecast of the agreement, NSBI estimates that the company could spend $11.13 million in salaries.  It also estimated that the new employees would contribute provincial tax revenues of around $1.44 million through their income and consumption taxes. As a result, the company would earn a rebate of up to $846,825 over five years.

The company will be eligible for a smaller rebate if it creates less than 60 new jobs.
