More jobs are coming to Sydney as a customer management centre is expanding to take advantage of emerging opportunities.
ServiCom Canada Limited is expanding its site in Sydney, creating up to 175 new full-time positions.
Premier Rodney MacDonald made the announcement today, April 16, with Gene Caldwell, chief financial officer of ServiCom Canada Limited; Todd Riley, site director of ServiCom's Sydney location; and Stephen Lund, president and CEO of Nova Scotia Business Inc. (NSBI).
The province of Nova Scotia, through NSBI, authorized a payroll rebate for ServiCom to a maximum of $914,400 over the next five years.
"ServiCom has proven its dedication to the province and the people of Nova Scotia," said Premier MacDonald. "This agreement will create more opportunities for Nova Scotians to live and work in their home province."
An expanded Sydney site and the addition of new employees will allow ServiCom to accommodate new contracts and focus on incoming calls.
"We have a proven track record of success at our Sydney location," said Mr. Caldwell. "We're eager to expand on this success and further dip into the talented labour pool in Cape Breton."
An expanded Sydney site and new employees, will enable ServiCom to accommodate new contracts.
"This is another example of the quality of talented workers we have in the province," said Mr. Lund. "Nova Scotia has the people to meet the growth potential of successful companies like ServiCom."
