Export Achievement Awards
Celebrate Nova Scotia’s Top Exporters
At NSBI, we see the talent and effort of Nova Scotia’s business community every day. Whether these businesses are forging connections in new markets like Nunavut or inventing brand new products like Nic Strum’s MoorQik, they’re always charting new territory. That’s why the Export Achievement Awards (EAA) are so important. It’s an opportunity to celebrate the successes we see on a regular basis—and a chance to demonstrate what Nova Scotia can do.
What are the Export Achievement Awards?
Since its inception in 1983, the Nova Scotia Export Achievement Awards has honoured more than 200 businesses. These awards are a reflection of the innovation and growth of Nova Scotia’s economy. With markets in every region of the world, Nova Scotia’s exporting companies are truly international - proving that export is an important driver of growth and success.
While this annual trade show and luncheon is a forum for celebrating Nova Scotia's exporting achievements, it’s also a great place to meet and network with like-minded people from all over the world.
Kicking off with the trade show gives attendees a chance to explore businesses in the region and meet the potential winners. The luncheon includes the awards ceremony, which highlights the businesses and organizations that have grown and succeeded in the global community. Each year a business is celebrated from each region of the province as well as a provincial exporter of the year award.
Exporting from Nova Scotia
Nova Scotia has always been a trading province. Even today, exports are growing faster than the provincial GDP, with total exports in goods and services totaling $15.4 billion in 2014.
