Virtual Trade Mission
Via Software TBD, Chile

Nova Scotia Business Inc., in partnership with the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA) and the province of Newfoundland and Labrador, are currently recruiting Ocean Technology companies interested in participating in a virtual trade mission to Chile. The trade mission is being conducted using virtual (video conferencing) technologies, avoiding travel and complying with social distancing requirements.
Much the same way that our Atlantic Provinces have been influenced and shaped by the Atlantic Ocean, so too has the more than 6400km of Chilean coast been shaped by the Pacific Ocean. With the newly ratified CPTPP agreement,  this virtual trade mission provides a way to explore the opportunities in this market.
Opportunities for Canadian Ocean Technology exist in several areas such as; marine renewable energy, protection of coastal waters (tracking, sonars, underwater vision and surveillance), seabed mapping and surveys, ecosystem monitoring for protection of species, aquaculture (aqua-tech, water treatment, environmental best practices, R&D), remote monitoring, etc.

Participation in this mission includes:

  • In-market bespoke matchmaking, with virtual meetings and technical support
  • Individual support by an NSBI Export Development Executive, and ACOA International Business Development Officer
  • A virtual market briefing by the Canadian Trade Commissioner Service in Santiago, Chile
  • Interpretation as needed

Registration fees: $0 (As this is a pilot project, it is being offered at no charge).
Please note that all applicants will be screened for eligibility and suitability by Nova Scotia Business Inc. and ACOA.
