Nova Scotia Business Inc (NSBI) in partnership with the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency Nova Scotia (ACOA) and in collaboration with the Centre for Women in Business, is organizing a mult-sector mission to the Boston  for high growth woman-owned or woman-led businesses. This is an exciting opportunity to join NSBI's first trade mission specifically for women-owned and women-led businesses in the United States.

We are looking for businesses in high-growth, key sectors including but not limited to, ocean-tech, agri-tech, advanced manufacturing and information technology. This mission, with Laurel Broten, President & CEO, NSBI, will provide the opportunity for businesses to participate in pre-arranged, one-on-one meetings with up to six potential clients and/or partners.

Why Boston?

The Greater Boston Area has one of the largest economies in the world, a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem with strong angel investment groups and a vibrant start-up community. Massachusetts boasts 114 universities and colleges, including MIT, Harvard, Tufts, and many research institutions. Boston is also home to the highest concentration of biotechnology companies in the world, over 400 medical device companies, and some of the largest global pharmaceutical companies. Massachusetts is a leader in clean energy and clean technology, and a top venture capital hub in the United States. With its close proximity to Nova Scotia, Boston presents many exciting export and business development opportunities for Nova Scotia businesses. 

As part of this mission, you will have access to:

  • In-market matchmaking (a minimum of six business-to-business meetings)
  • Networking and educational opportunities
  • On-the-ground support from a NSBI Export Development Executive
  • On-the-ground support from the Account Manager, Enterprise Development, ACOA
  • Companies participating in this mission will have the opportunity to attend networking events and the Boston Christmas Tree Lighting festivities.

Registration fees: $575 ( $500 + $75 HST)
Registration deadline: October 18, 2019

Please note: Applicants will be screened for eligibility and suitability. Space is limited. Companies are responsible for the cost of airfair, hotel accommodations, meals, and in-market transportation.
Applicants may be eligible to apply to the Export Growth Program. The Export Growth Program supports travel to new markets to allow companies to meet with prospective clients, attend trade shows, or identify potential opportunities.
