Canadian Supplier Day: Trade Mission to Mexico

The Consulate General of Canada in Monterrey, Mexico, together with Export Development Canada (EDC), is seeking Canadian suppliers with an interest in doing business with Mexican agri-food companies to participate in the Canadian Supplier Day in Monterrey on October 29th-30th, 2019.

The Mexican market has become very attractive for Canadian exporters, as its consumers highly value the outstanding quality of Canadian agri-food products. Monterrey is Mexico´s third largest city, second-largest industrial hub and it has the highest per-capita income in Mexico and Latin America. Additionally, this city serves as a business and financial center for northern Mexico, and it is home to several Mexican leading corporations in the food industry. 

Monterrey is where some of the most important agri-food retailers, HRI firms, and importers / distributors are located, such as: Soriana, HEB, Sigma Alimentos, Sigma Foodservice, Qualtia Alimentos, Food Service Group, among others. 

The centerpiece of the Canadian Supplier Day is a one-day event, October 30th, 2019, which combines a “mini-show” with pre-arranged B2B meetings between Canadian food suppliers and major Mexican buyers, based on mutual interest. This initiative will be complemented with an educational seminar and store tours, the day prior to the event, on October 29th, 2019.

The objectives of the Canadian Supplier Day are to showcase and promote the high quality agri-food products from Canada, to increase export opportunities for Canadian companies and to raise the number of Canadian companies exporting to Mexico.

Firms participating in this event will connect with pre-qualified, import-ready Mexican companies specializing in a variety of product categories, including:

• Bakery Products 
• Non Alcoholic Beverages 
• Chocolates/Sweets/Confectionery 
• Gourmet/ Specialty Grocery 
• Fish and Seafood 
• Functional Food and Snacks 

PARTICIPANTS ARE WELCOME TO INCLUDE NON-PERISHABLE ITEMS IN THEIR DISPLAY

• We are seeking suppliers for diverse distribution sales channels with a special focus on:
• Retailers
• Food Service companies
• Private label
• Importers & distributors

Registration Fee:

The Canadian Supplier Day will be free of charge for participants.

Travel and Accommodation Costs: to be covered by the participant (hotel with corporative rates will be suggested by the Canadian Consulate in Monterrey)
