A new seafood brand that says it all.

Nova Scotia has launched a new seafood brand that tells of a place where the sea is pure, cold and clean. Where the seafood tastes of the unspoiled Atlantic.

And now, Nova Scotia seafood companies have the opportunity to leverage this new brand globally.

A Catch Above the Rest

Introduced earlier this month at the Halifax Stanfield International Airport, the brand positions Nova Scotia internationally as a symbol of quality and sustainability.

"Nova Scotia seafood is a premium product and we want to share it with the world," says Keith Colwell, Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture. "The seafood brand gives the province and industry the tools to deliver that message in key markets and increase the value of our exports."

The brand positions Nova Scotia seafood in key international markets including Asia, Europe, and the United States. This cements Nova Scotia as a name in the industry, and raises the value and awareness of Nova Scotia seafood through retail and food service promotions, marketing collateral and trade missions.

A Global Splash

What better place to internationally launch the new brand than North America’s largest seafood expo, the Seafood Expo North America (SENA) in Boston, Massachusetts?

“Nova Scotia’s seafood companies are currently exporting to more than 75 countries,” explained Laurel Broten, President & CEO, Nova Scotia Business Inc. “With 15 seafood companies  participating on our trade mission to the expo, and the province’s new seafood brand, we’re demonstrating our commitment to quality, sustainability, and continuous product diversification.”

Canada’s #1 Seafood Exporter

Nova Scotia is Canada’s leading exporter of seafood, with $1.8 billion worth of products sold to international markets.

Home to 178 processing companies providing year-round access to more than 50 species, Nova Scotia’s capacity to deliver fresh seafood remains timely and consistent due to cold chain logistics and a new direct air service option.

And now we have the brand to ensure we continue to grow this dynamic and sustainable industry.
