To implement the organization’s five-year plan successfully, some reasonable assumptions have been made:
- Nova Scotia’s business climate remains competitive.
- NSBI is the lead business development agency for the province and continues to take an independent, business-like approach to growing the provincial economy.
- NSBI receives appropriate levels of financial resources and support from the Province to support the successful implementation of this plan.
- NSBI’s suite of services and programs are adapted to match the direction of this plan.
As NSBI embarks on the next five years, the organization will continue to work with businesses and partners to identify new opportunities through trade development, business advising, business financing, venture capital and investment attraction.
NSBI will continue to deliver results.
Deliver results through its frontline business units.
Deliver results by assisting regions to attract the right type of investment.
Deliver results as an aggressive, global competitor.
Deliver results by assisting our clients in creating opportunities for the province’s highly skilled workforce.
Deliver results through effective leadership.
Deliver results in a collaborative business environment.
Finally, deliver results to the province by remaining true to NSBI’s core focus.
Like the first five-year plan, NSBI has set out a strategy that will guide the organization in doing its part to create a strong, prosperous and competitive Nova Scotia.
This strategy sets a new target of $800 million in total client payroll created and retained over the next five years. This will assist the organization in reaching its ultimate goal of its clients creating and retaining $1 billion in total payroll by 2013.
To reach these aggressive but achievable targets, NSBI will continue to seize opportunities that will have a lasting impact on the province, its businesses and its people.
