COMPETITIVENESS

How does NSBI need to act?

NSBI must continue its role in assisting Nova Scotia to become a more competitive place to do business.

In order to compete in a global economy, NSBI must continue to create strategies that maximize growth, promote innovation and deliver results that increase wealth and prosperity for the province.

NSBI has learned a lot. But, there is a lot left to explore. In understanding new opportunities, NSBI must continue to work with its partners to create an even stronger business case for Nova Scotia, one that will enhance the position of the province as an effective global competitor.

To do this, NSBI must continue to attract leading international companies to the province that offer competitive salaries, create jobs for highly skilled workers and create spinoff opportunities for a variety of industries.

Global competitiveness isn’t just about job growth. It’s about companies investing in its people. It’s about investing in innovation. In short, it’s about technology and talent.

NSBI will encourage companies to take a hard look at their business, understand how they can improve and make changes to compete globally. NSBI’s role is to assist companies in identifying how they can use innovation and technology to improve day-to-day business operations and how they can compete globally by penetrating new export markets.

NSBI knows it must continue to assist in building a province that is smart, strategic, and above all, competitive.
