One of Nova Scotia's Largest IT Firms Expands

A top IT company is expanding in Nova Scotia. Keane Canada Inc. will create up to 375 new jobs in Halifax within the next five years.

The province, through Nova Scotia Business Inc. (NSBI), has signed a maximum $3,445,313 payroll rebate with Keane. The rebate is invested incrementally as the company achieves hiring targets. The Department of Economic Development is providing $2,600,950 to assist with training and recruitment.

Economic Development Minister Angus MacIsaac made the announcement today, March 6, and was joined by Jason Powell, managing director of Keane and Stephen Lund, president and CEO of NSBI.

"Nova Scotia has a strong, diverse and growing information technology industry," said Mr. MacIsaac. "Keane sets a great example that says Nova Scotia is an ideal location for long-term growth of global IT companies."

With more than 10 years in Nova Scotia, Keane has continued to expand its Halifax location.

"With a technology savvy population and some of the best educational institutions in the country, Nova Scotia has been a fantastic part of our global footprint over the past eleven years," said Mr. Powell. "We're very excited about our continued growth and future expansion in the province."
