A Nova Scotia business audience will have a chance to glean insight on the current economic challenges from an expert on export financing.
Stephen Poloz, senior vice-president, financing for Export Development Canada, will be the guest speaker at the 26th annual Export Achievement Awards. The awards gala will take place Thursday, May 21,st at the World Trade and Convention Centre in Halifax.
The awards are presented by Nova Scotia Business Inc., in partnership with the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, to celebrate export success and recognize some of Nova Scotia's top exporters of the year.
Mr. Poloz leads Export Development Canada's Financial Products Group, delivering an extensive range of lending, financing, political-risk insurance and equity programs. He is also responsible for economics and the corporation's International Trade Intelligence Department.
Mr. Poloz will address the global financial crisis and its likely impacts on Canada. He will also outline how his organization is adapting to help exporters meet those challenges.
