Leader in ICT Welcomes Second Term with NSBI Board

Halifax (October 4, 2005) - Paul Kent, chief operating officer (COO) of xwave and senior vice president, enterprise and business solutions, of Aliant, has been re-appointed.  NSBI board chair Tom Stanfield announced Kent’s re-appointment today, Oct. 4.

“Mr. Kent brings to the job of serving on NSBI’s board the drive and enthusiasm to see Nova Scotia businesses grow,” said Mr. Stanfield. “I look forward to his continued contributions at the table.”
In addition to his current position as COO of xwave, Mr. Kent has 25 years experience including his time as senior vice president and managing director for the strategic consulting unit of Fujitsu Consulting.

Mr. Kent accepted his re-appointment to NSBI’s board on Aug. 26.  He will continue as part of the human resource governance committee, which is responsible for making sure the appropriate human resources management policies are in place, managing the recruitment process for new board members, and developing and overseeing NSBI’s corporate governance principles.

Thirteen proven and committed businessmen and women lead NSBI as its board of directors. Board members come from communities across the province and represent various industry sectors. NSBI board members may serve up to four years per term and cannot serve more than two consecutive terms.
