Seven Nova Scotia companies have been honoured for excellence in exporting at the 22nd Annual Export Achievement Awards.
This year's award winners have made a combined contribution of more than $370 million to Nova Scotia's economy.
"I am pleased to congratulate this year's winners on their export success," said Kerry Morash, Minister of Economic Development. "By offering products and services that are competitive in the global market, these companies are growing our economy and making Nova Scotia a better place to live, work and do business."
The winning companies and their awards are:
-- New Exporter, C-Vision Limited
-- Long-Term Exporter, Clearwater Seafoods Limited
-- Export Growth Through New Markets, Acadian Seaplants Limited
-- Export Growth Through Product Development, Ocean Nutrition Canada
-- Export Growth Through Partnership, Jacques Whitford
-- Export Growth Through Sales, Secunda International Limited
-- Canadian Market Development, Master Merchant Systems Software.
Ocean Nutrition Canada also takes home the award for Exporter of the Year.
This year's keynote speaker is David Fung, chairman and CEO of ACDEG International Inc. and a leader in Canadian export. Mr. Fung’s objective is to outline opportunities for companies to achieve their export potential.
