Premier John Hamm joined Stephen Lund, President and CEO of Nova Scotia Business Inc., today, in announcing that TeleTech Holdings, Inc., a leading provider of customer management solutions, will soon begin operations in Nova Scotia.
TeleTech has signed a six-year payroll rebate agreement with Nova Scotia Business Inc., contingent on the company establishing three customer management centers in Nova Scotia. TeleTech's investments in Nova Scotia are expected to infuse approximately $200 million into the provincial economy over the course of the agreement.
"Today in Nova Scotia, more people are going to work than at any time in the province's history, with tens of thousands of new jobs since 1999," said Premier Hamm. "TeleTech's significant investment in Nova Scotia will build on the success of our growth strategy, creating employment opportunities for hundreds of Nova Scotians in a successful, growing organization."
Under terms of the multi-year agreement, TeleTech will open a customer management centre in the Bayer's Lake Industrial Park by the end of June. TeleTech is currently recruiting for the new centre and expects to hire approximately 600 employees. In addition, TeleTech is exploring options for an additional two sites within the province for further expansion, including at least one rural community. The company is eligible to receive a maximum of $11.8 million, should it hire 1500 employees over the course of the agreement
