Export Development Canada (EDC)

On the Export Development Canada website, you can find helpful information for small businesses, including tools and information for first-time and inexperienced exporters. This site also offers information on export trade services such as insurance, financing, bonding and claims. By visiting the economic research link on the EDC website, you will also receive free economic and political research covering over 200 markets worldwide.
 
EDC also offers start-up companies, young enterprises and export-ready firms an online 30-minute video presentation called "Building Your Export Confidence" in both English and French. International Business Opportunities Centre (IBOC)

The International Business Opportunities Centre (IBOC) provides a matching service - connecting foreign buyers with Canadian companies. The Centre works in partnership with Canada's trade commissioners who are located around the world in Canada's embassies, high commissions and consulates.

When one of Canada's trade officers identifies a business opportunity, they turn to the International Business Opportunities Centre for help. The team of specialists at the Centre immediately go to work to search out and contact potential Canadian exporters.

Many of these business leads translate into export sales for Canadian companies - or potential future deals, new partners, new suppliers and even developing new products and services that will meet the needs of the foreign buyer.

This site also offers tips for success and information on the Virtual Trade Commissioner (VTC). The World Trade Centers Association (WTCA)

The WTCA site offers a variety of information for its members. As a member, you can access the Trade Flow database, which provides information on U.S. imports and exports based on U.S. Customs and Census Bureau statistics. You can determine the pricing of specific products; identify countries of origin and destination, and ports of entry and exit. This site also offers the Trade Opportunities database for its members. On this database, members can search and display thousands of offers to buy, sell or investment opportunities submitted by members of World Trade Centers around the globe at no charge. Each offer includes a complete business profile of the company.
